Developing and training our scientists has always been a core mission of cfaed. Our systematic career development focuses on doctoral students, research group leaders, and young professors.
Please note that our measures are currently on hold and not as actively pursued as they normally would, owing to our current phase of re-defining cfaed's research and career development strategies.
We want to make sure you have a smooth start into your new position! That is why we are in close contact with our future staff members already prior to their arrival in Dresden.
We collaborate with the TU Dresden Welcome Center, which offers a special service to make integration of incoming scientists from abroad easy.

Graduate School & Postgraduate Program
The structured Graduate School & Postgraduate Program includes the following main aspects:
(I) The Individual Development Reviews aim at supporting and encouraging young scientists in their current projects and the development of their career.
(II) The Training Modules aim at providing additional competencies and professional orientation.
(III) The Grant Program includes a variety of grants.
Throughout the year, cfaed Career Development offers a versatile agenda, amongst others:
Career Symposium: This event is designed to become a regular series specializing in individual topics, such as sharpening academic skills or improving social, communication and leadership skills, and providing professional orientation.
Summer Festival: The cfaed summer party is the perfect event to close the semester and to celebrate all finished PhD theses with a graduation ceremony.
Dresden Microelectronics Academy: This one-week summer school has been introduced to showcase Dresden as Europe's largest microelectronics hub. Annually organized in late summer, cfaed aims to establish it as a further measure to dissemate its research and expertise. In addition, master students are introduced to TU Dresden, who thus avail themselves of the summer school in preparation for their further studies at TUD.
