The EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020 provides a variety of funding opportunities to support and encourage research in the European Research Area. Horizon 2020 consists of three main program pillars with two of them having collaborative projects as primary instrument. The aim of the workshop is to show funding opportunities within the two sections “Leadership in Industrial Technologies“ and “Societal Challenges“ and to train researchers in writing successful proposals for these parts of the Horizon 2020 program. The course describes the structure of Horizon 2020, gives insight into underlying EU policies, and highlights dos and don’ts for writing competitive proposals. Available services and tools to be used to prepare and submit a proposal will be presented and practical tips given how to be best prepared for the actual proposal writing.
