Dr. Marco Zimmerling Receives the EDAA Outstanding Dissertations Award 2016!

Congratulations to cfaed Research Group Leader Dr. Marco Zimmerling (Networked Embedded Systems Group), who was announced as the winner of the European Design and Automation Association (EDAA) Outstanding Dissertations Award (ODA) 2016! Dr. Marco Zimmerling was distinguished in “Topic 1 - New directions in software design and optimization for embedded, cyber-physical and secure systems” for his dissertation thesis “End-to-end Predictability and Efficiency in Low-power Wireless Networks”, which he completed at ETH Zürich. Dr. Zimmerling has been leading cfaed's Networked Embedded Systems Group since November 2015.
The award is a prestigious award given by EDAA, a non-profit organization. Its purpose is to operate for educational, scientific and technical purposes for the benefit of the international electronics design and design automation community. The EDAA Award addresses the importance of university research to the advancement of design automation and test and encourages young researchers to work in this field by recognizing outstanding Ph.D. dissertations in 4 categories. A total of 31 dissertations were submitted to EDAA this year. The winners will be awarded the prize at the DATE 2017 Conference and Exhibition, which is held March 27 – 31 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The four awarded dissertations will be also published in the EDAA Outstanding Monographs series.
