Die Forschung von Prof. Dr. Erbe beinhaltet Schwerpunkte wie die Herstellung, Charakterisierung und Modellierung von Nanostrukturen und nanostrukturierten Kompositmaterialien. Als Honorarprofessor ist er am Institut für Halbleiter und Mikrosystemtechnik beschäftigt.
