It is cfaed's mission to promote equal opportunities for all our members. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and to support this goal with the following measures:
To support the relocation of families and partnerships to Dresden, cfaed actively engages in finding suitable employment opportunities for spouses/partners and benefits from the well-established Dual Career Service Office at TUD as well as from the strong academic and industrial network of cfaed researchers.
Training and Coaching
As a part of the cfaed Career Development Program, we have designed special training courses for young female scientists to improve their communication skills and conflict competences as well as to build sustainable networks within the Cluster. cfaed Career Development Managers offer advice and coaching in all aspects relating to qualifications, career development, and leadership.
All trainers of the cfaed workshop program integrate gender issues within their trainings, especially in context of leadership, conflict management, team building, and communication.
cfaed encourages female postdocs to participate in TUD’s tailored Maria-Reiche-Mentoring-Program. It facilitates networking opportunities and provides insights into the informal rules and structures of university life. cfaed’s Career Development will also help to find individual mentors.
Child Care and Advice
In Dresden, there are over 370 childcare facilities available. TUD reserves more than 50 kindergarten places close to the campus for its employees. In addition, flexible childcare is offered, e.g. to cover selected school holidays or in order to allow parents to attend conferences and meetings. A family service team offers support and advice on work-life-balance. Family rooms and play corners are available across the TUD campus.
Feel free to contact us with any questions or suggestions concerning equal opportunities!
