Professional experience

  • Since 2013: Research module leader of the Technology Module in the Carbon Path of the Excellenzcluster Center for Advancing Electronics (CFAED)
  • Since 2011: Groupleader CNT Integration and Applications, TU Chemnitz, Germany, Center for Microtechnologies,
  • 2006-2011: PhD Student and scientific advisor at the Center for Microtechnologies of Chemnitz University of Technology in the field of CNT-technology for electronic and sensor applications. Supervising tutor of interns, guest researchers and diploma student.
  • 2009: Guest research stay at Jiao Tong University of Shanghai. Research on CNT dispersion preparation techniques.
  • Research activities and beam times at synchrotron source BESSY (Berlin) on the field of organic semiconductors

  • wafer scale dielectrophoretic (DEP) deposition
  • integration of in situ analytics (e.g. Raman, UV-Vis-IR) for process monitoring

Recent scientific education steps

  • 2006 - 2011: PhD student within the International Research Training Group (IRTG) on the topic Carbon Nanotubes for Interconnect applications.
  • 2005 - 2006: Research assistant at semiconductor physics group
  • 2000 – 2005: Physics study at Chemnitz University of Technology. Graduation as Dipl.-Phys. at semiconductor physics group on the field of organic multilayer nanosystems and characterization.
  • 1999: Abitur (academic high school diploma)


Research Goal & Vision

With my group we aspire to bridge the gap between science on nanomaterials like carbon nanotubes and their application in electronics and sensors with industrial compatible technologies. Therefore we focus on wafer level technologies for CNT material fabrication as well as material conditioning, the assembling or site-selective growth of CNTs, contact formation and fabrication of CNT-based devices. Our vision is to establish a technology platform for nanomaterial integration. This will be applied for the implementation of CNT based high frequency field effect transistors for communication applications as well as ultra-sensitive and miniaturized sensors.
