Guiherme Korol received his bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) in 2018, his master's degree in Microelectronics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in 2020, and his PhD degree in Computer Science from UFRGS in 2024. Between September 2022 and April 2023, Guilherme was also with the Chair for Compiler Construction (CCC) as a Visiting PhD Researcher.
Since May 2024, Guilherme holds a position of postdoctoral researcher at CCC. Concomitantly, Guilherme works as an AI Engineer at the AI Competence Center at NXP Semiconductors. His research areas are Computer Architecture and Compilers for Deep Learning.
I work at the intersection of compilers, computer architecture, and deep learning. Broadly speaking, I am interested in deep learning optimizations and their respective hardware/compiler support for efficient processing. Previously, I also worked with FPGA execution of deep learning models—especially under constrained environments like the IoT edge.
