A highlight at the start of the international cfaed Seminar series of the Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (cfaed) 2014: The new director of Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids, Prof. Andrew Mackenzie, gives a lecture titled “Complex Oxides: a Playground for Physics and Technology” in the Barkhausen Building (Room BAR 205) on 3 February, 4pm.

TUD scientists start the project “FAST – Fast Actuators Sensors and Transceivers”

The Dresden Center for Nanoanalysis (DCN) has installed two special microscopes and started a three-year research project with focus on one-dimensional electronics. The results will be analyzed within the paths „Silicon Nanowire“ and „Carbon“ of the Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (cfaed) of the Technische Universität (TU) Dresden.

The cfaed will have a further top-class guest in its „Distinguished Lecture Series“. After the French Physics Nobel Laureate, Serge Haroche, in April, the president and vice-chancellor of the British University of Surrey, Professor Sir Christopher Snowden, will give a talk on november, 28 at 10.15am (Festsaal Dülferstraße).

cfaed scientists realize Organic Inversion Field Effect Transistor

For the first time, scientists of the Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (cfaed) have realized an inversion transistor based on organic semiconductors. The inversion field effect transistor is the basic device of modern silicon based microelectronics and is nowadays produced more than a billion times in mobile phones and computers.
