cfaed Coordinator Presents New ‘Dresden 5G Lab’ in South Korea

cfaed Coordinator Prof. Gerhard Fettweis will present the new project ‘Dresden 5G Lab’ on 19 May at the international ‘IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference’ in the South-Korean capital Seoul. Therefore, 16 professors of Technische Universität Dresden will work together in an interdisciplinary team with more than 500 scientists to advance the research concerning the key technologies for the 5th generation of mobile communications. The grand opening is planned for September in Dresden.

Leading cfaed Scientists Organize International Workshop About DNA-based Microchips

Dresden’s scientists are internationally renowned in the field of biomimetic material synthesis which uses biological principles such as molecular recognition and self-assembling for the tailor-made synthesis of new materials and structures. Therefore, the international workshop ‘DNA-Based Nanotechnology: Digital Chemistry (DNATEC14)’ hosted by the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems is well received within the global community. The workshop takes place from 5 to 9 Mai and will be organized with the help of the Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (cfaed) of TU Dresden and Kurt Schwabe Institute for Measure and Sensor Technology e.V. Meinsberg.

The coordinator of the Cluster of Excellence for microelectronics of Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) is coauthor of the position paper “Hidden Electronics” of the Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies  - Verband der Elektrotechnik (VDE) - in Germany recently published in Munich.

cfaed Starts a Research Project on Organic Electronics with the University of Brasília

On 1 April, the Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (cfaed) starts a binational three-year research project on organic electronics with the University of Brasília (UnB). The project is part of the program ‘Science without Frontiers’ of the Brazilian Government. “Brazil would like to exploit its enormous plant resources for organic electronics“, Dr.-Ing. Martin Claus, group leader in the cfaed research path Carbon at Technische Universität Dresden (TUD), explains.

cfaed Presents New Microchip ‘Tomahawk 2’ at DATE’14 Conference in Dresden

The Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (cfaed) presents its new microchip ‘Tomahawk 2’ at the DATE’14 Conference in the International Congress Center Dresden from March 24 to 28, 2014. The new Tomahawk is extremely fast, energy-efficient and resilient. It is a heterogeneous multi-processor which can easily integrate very different kinds of devices.
